Silver Jewellery Course - 6 weeks

Throughout this hands-on course, you can acquire and practice basic metalworking skills, receive demonstrations and guidance on a variety of techniques, whilst designing and creating your own pieces of silver jewellery.
During the six weeks you will aim to complete three pieces of jewellery, the first two being structured projects to enable practice of basic skills involved in working with metal and in the last you will have free reign to put all your new found techniques and creative ideas together. There will also be the opportunity to continue developing your new found skills, with future courses and day workshops.
You will be guided through the jewellery techniques by an experienced tutor, who will be demonstrating step-by-step techniques to the group and deliver continuous one-on-one support to all participants.
Processes covered during course:-
Annealing, Pickling ,Piercing, Soldering, Filing & sanding, Polishing, Texturing, Use of rolling mill, Doming, Fusing, making jump rings & earring hooks. Wax work, Stone setting, casting and etching are also covered upon continued practice.
Places are allocated on a first come first served basis. There is a choice of a morning (9.30-12noon) or evening (6.30-9pm) session on either Tuesday, Wednesdays or Thursdays. Sessions last 2.5 hours, for 6 consecutive weeks, same day and time each week.
